wedding locations tasmania: colonial hotel launceston, launceston city park, deloraine, westbury

Step 1

a) Go to the booking page and select a date/time and venue for your wedding ceremony from our various wedding locations in Northern Tasmania; please note that this is only pencilled in at this stage, booking is confirmed once we have received paperwork and payment.
b) You will also need to download and print a copy of the “Notice of Intended Marriage” (NOIM) document available from Attorney-General’s website, www.ag.gov.au.
c) Fill out your personal details on page 3 and then scan and email to us along with your scanned identity and proof of birth documents and if married before either death/divorce certificate. (Do not sign/witness at this stage)

Proof of Identity, Proof of Birth and Proof that you are free to marry requirements
We must sight a person’s original Birth Certificate, a certified copy or an extract. Where a birth certificate is not available passports are now accepted as proof of birth and identity for overseas and Australian citizens, although a birth certificate is preferable as it has a lot more information; for example parents full name and place of birth. If you do not have or cannot find your original birth certificate you can obtain one  from the Office of Births, Deaths and Marriages in the State or Territory in which you were born. If you are not providing a passport you will also need to provide photo ID as proof of identity.

If either of you have been married before, we will also need scans of your certified copies of the Decree Absolute, Divorce Certificate, or your previous spouse’s Death Certificate. If you do not have this it can be obtained from the family court in the state in which you were divorced or Births,Deaths and Marriages for a death certificate ,there are fees associated with this. If you have never been married before you do not have to supply proof that you are free to marry.

Scanned or photographed copies sent by email are accepted as proof of identity, proof of birth and if married before proof that you are free to marry if you have been married before. There is no need to bring any original documentation with you to the ceremony other than the photo Identification that you scanned and emailed.

Step 2

a) Once we have received the NOIM form we will check for any errors and then type all the information on to a new form and return by email for your approval.
Very Important: please check all spelling and details are correct.
b) Scan the typed NOIM form that I have returned to you.
c) Take the NOIM form to one of the prescribed authorities listed below, you will then sign and have your signatures witnessed.
d) Forward the signed NOIM form to us as soon as possible by email,or by post if you prefer: 805 Birralee Road, Westbury Tasmania 7303.We must receive at least one month before your ceremony date or you will be unable to legally marry on your chosen day.
